Welcome to Teener Baseball 2024!

Happy 2024 Baseball Fans!

The State College Teener League leadership team is looking forward to welcoming everyone back to the Silvi Baseball Complex for another great season of on field excitement.

Our facility is among the most active in the Centre region, and we are proud to host baseball played at the highest level of multiple divisions. These organizations include:

  • State College Area Teener League

  • Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy Varsity Baseball

  • Penn State Baseball Club, NCBA Division 1 and 2

  • Centre Sluggers and Centre Hardballers Adult Leagues

Most notably, these fields support area youth through State College Teener League baseball from April through October. Our volunteers have been hard at work in recent years to improve the experience of players and fans both on and off the field. 2023 featured a lot of action on and off the field, and here are some of the highlights:

  • Updated and established new bylaws and welcomed new members to the executive board

  • Replaced one batting cage with plans in place to replace the other cage

  • Ferguson Twp arborist provided tree trimming services in the off -season

  • Coordinated with PSU turf management for continued support on sod farm and field services

  • Produced banners for our team sponsors and donors

  • Replaced both sets of bleachers on upper field

  • Cleaned and organized onsite garage to better store new and improved equipment

  • Hosted two state-wide Future Stars tournaments for Teener aged players

  • Coordinated the removal of large oak tree deemed dangerous by township arborist.

  • Drafted 5-yr field improvement plan

  • Dugout roof structure repairs were made on the upper field 3rd base side

  • Initiated a fall training/scrimmage program for roughly 20 players Teener aged players

  • Held multiple meetings with Ferguson Township to keep them updated and amended agreement between the township and Teener league and look forward to continued collaboration

  • Purchased and disbursed approximately 22 tons of infield mix on lower field with help of PSBC players.

Longer term plans for the facility include upgrades to existing equipment along with strategic material additions such as a new batting cage, new fencing, and better field care tools. In the short term, we have exciting plans for each of our playing surfaces.

  • Additional material and leveling processes planned for the finishing up Airport Field

  • This fall, with the guidance of Penn State turf management, we will be returning grass to the infield of Spectrum Field. This is a big project that will likely take Spectrum Field offline for the fall season

  • Once the new sod is installed, plans to bring in new material and level the surface will proceed

  • Plans for reestablishing the warning track on Spectrum Field

We are proud to support our community and work to provide the best possible baseball experience to those visiting the park. We are always looking for additional support for those that wish to get involved. We would love to hear from anyone interested in coaching, sponsoring, or helping with field maintenance. If you’d like to get involved, please email admin@statecollegeteener.com

We look forward to seeing everyone at the fields soon. Thank you for your ongoing support!

Sincerely,

State College Area Teener League Executive Board
